Commonwealth
Development Corporation
The long-established CDC has been evolving to keep pace with its government brief. The agency was based in London's Pimlico in a building we knew well: over the years of occupation we assisted with a number of reorganisations and moves there.
When evolution resulted in the creation of two new organisations late in 2003, Corporate Moves was asked to manage relocation for both.
The CDC Capital for Development division needed to move to a more central position. Once a suitable building in St James's was identified, we developed a relocation programme that would see operations transferred and up and running by the February 2004 deadline. This included extra time and assistance for the cataloguing and wrapping of CDC's extensive collection of Commonwealth art.
Actis, CDC's private equity investment arm, also left Pimlico and settled into a new Thames-side development. Again, Corporate Moves managed the process - this time on a very tight timescale.
Both moves were achieved over weekends, with each new workplace fully functional and ready to welcome staff first thing Monday morning.
